That's exactly what spawned this thread. I asked if XBOX ONE had any option similar to the Sony golds.

Since at the time he couldn't find any headphones for Xbox that could compete with the golds with all the same features he went on to say that stereo is better than surround sound.

Then he finds a set that are supposedly surround sound and all of a sudden surround sound is dope again. But the kicker is, the mic on his headset sucks so he suggest that he might have to wear two headsets at once, one for surround sound and another for chat. When he found out that didn't work he says that the mic on the Kinect is the perfect solution.

Bottom line, the Sony golds blow anything currently available in the same price range on the Xbox out of the water but he's too corny to admit it. He can't even admit that Sony has a better headset solution than the Xbox. It's an open wound that burns him beyond belief.

But it's like I told him, if he's happy with what he bought that's all that matters. Doesn't matter to me at all.

I have seen a few reviews from folks, but none of them seem to be able to compare them to any other headsets or seem to be really audio type folks. This is ok by the way, not everyone has $500 headphones and a dedicated amp and DAC, and only listen to FLAC files. Luckily, I do.

Before I continue let me make a few things clear. First I don't have pulse elites and I won't be able to compare to them. Second, Just because I have fancy headphones doesn't mean I will be comparing these to those either, that would be unfair. Also, though I want my headphones to be neutral and accurate for music, that doesn't mean I want my gaming headset to be like that. A gaming headset will be used to listen explosions, gun fire, etc. You want nice bass and clarity. So though I will do my best, it's hard to critique the Mids of an AK12 in COD, compared to a guitar in a Radiohead song.

Features

• Pretty much plug and play. Plug in the dongle and you are ready to go. No other setup was needed (My headset is the same, but is compatible with XB1 or PS4). Didn't even need to go to settings or anything. Also, tried with my Macbook and that worked plug and play also. They also work with Windows (will try that later)
  
  
• Headset has a volume button, VSS (virtual surround) button, chat/audio buttons for separate volume control on game audio and chat audio, Mute button (functions as sidetone control when held), and a power, 1, and 2, switch. When you switch to power it turns it off. When you switch to 1 its without bass boost, and 2 is with bass boost.
  
  
• Battery. I will have to update this later, I am curious about this but will need to do a full charge and then see how long till it drains completely.
  
  
• Sidetone. These do have sidetone, you need to hold mute to activate. There are 2 sidetone levels. Low and High.

Comfort

• They are are comfortable and cup your ears completely. Your ears are pretty close to the driver, which is my only complaint about the comfort. It is not really uncomfortable, but if there was more separation from ear to driver I would be a bit more happy.
  
  
• Band is padded and comfortable. It feels fine on top of the head and doesn't squeeze your ears too much, feels fine. Everything on the headset is pretty much padded, so there is nothing that really sticks out as being uncomfortable.
  
  
• Overall comfort is good, which is very important for a gaming headset.

Sound Quality

• This is the tough part. I am going to critique these NOT like an audiophile. They are a gaming headset. They have exaggerated lows, recessed mids, and a bit of a spike toward the highs. What you will hear through these are gun explosions, shyt blowing up, and car engines. Will I listen to a flac file of in rainbows on these? No. But do they sound good for $99 headphones that I can walk around the house with, talk to my friends on, and throw on the couch when I am done? Yes.
  
  
• Most gamers will actually be thrilled with the sound. BUT only after a few things. First the setting on the headset should be on 2. Usually I don't like too much bass because I want accuracy. When I playing games I don't give a shyt, which is why I am using this headset and not a $500 pair. I want bass and I want color. So setting 2 gives you that bass. Second turn off VSS. Virtual surround sound is bullshyt and makes it sound like shyt. Stereo is fine and sounds much better.
  
  
• Voice quality is good. My friend said i sounded clear and had no complaints. I will have to ask more friends how i sound, but so far the mic is doing what i want.
  
  
• Sidetone is very natural. I couldn't really tell at first, but then I turned it off and then it becomes apparent. It is very subtle, though I wouldn't mind more options to make it even louder.

Conclusion

TL;DR: Overall these headphones are great for $99 bucks. Can I sit here and be a critic and sound like a snob about every aspect of the sound quality? Sure. But overall they sound fine for what they are and that is playing video games or watching movies wireless and comfortably. Get em if you want to play games and chat with friends. If you want the absolute best in sound, then you are going to have to spend much more than $99.

4.) My shyt works on PS4/XB1 out the box, and has Microsoft approved sound card built into it
5.) Totally wireless which is what you was asking for, and it was only $39.99

So yes, at the end of the day. This shyts all over what you ended up getting. But that wasn't the point of this thread. The knowledge that has been taught in this thread is invaluable. You should recognize instead of being bitter about your purchase. I'm thrilled about mine (Tru Story)
