I used to work across the street from the stadium. Was supposed to be at that game cuz it was the first time they faced Mariners since that playoff game. (Mattingly last game)
I've mentioned it on here on numerous occassions but I was also supposed to be at that game. Me and my Dad went to a game that had a rain delay and they gave away free tickets of your choice for 3 games and we couldnt believe the Mariners was one of the games you could choose. So we decided that was the game we would go to. Last minute my Dad sold my ticket to a friend of his because he would make money instead of having to spend money on me. Remember watching that game at home vividly half excited half pissed off.

Man Daryll Strawberry even as Yankee fan was one of my favorite players as a lefty I emulated his leg kick. Was so happy the Yankees gave him that chance and he really took advantage of it which made it that much better.

Remember when he had to take off because of the colon cancer they had the 39 on the back of the hats I just had happened to be at Lids and bought a Yankee hat. At the other end of the mall I was at somehow i ended up having a coversation with someone who worked at a sowing kiosk type store and he said he could sow the 39 on it for me. shyt came out official everyone in school was going crazy for it asking me where I got it but I wouldnt reveal that shyt to nobody.

watching now, never noticed how much Griffey and his swing were alike
I used his batting style. I remember playing in the Pony league World Series championship game (we lost), I would come up to the plate and hear 500 people chanting "Daaaarrrrylll, Daaaarryyll, Daaaarryyll." That lasted all the way high school ball until the coach decided to tinker with my swing and stance.

I swear that in all these years I never realized that they won thalose rings together.

Its funny how Doc talked so highly about the Mariners when you could compare the both of then to Johnson and Griffey.

These dudes dont get the credit they deserve and that includes me ...a nikka that went to Crenshaw High
