I'm making my son sit down and watch this with me. These dudes were my heroes. As a youngsta, the Mets had been garbage. Then all of a sudden I heard about this Strawberry dude who could really hit. Then behind him comes this fireballing cat named Gooden, and we was off and running. They were my heroes.... Every time I see them I get a little thinking about what could have been and how things were supposed to be. It's kinda like what forced me to grow up, when Doc started having his drug issues and Strawberry wound up leaving for LA in free agency. Had me like

Ummmm.....well....
I cant wait for this one tomorrow. Doc and Darryl should be cautionary tales of how not to do things when you get some success at a young age. Neither of them reached and stayed at the level that they should have gotten too. But both had decent careers and have 7 World Series titles between them.
