I saw this. Frankly, it wasn't that great of a documentary.
It sure felt like 30 for 30 hit a peak with The Two Escobars, and while other documentaries have been really great, the series as a whole has been getting watered down.

I think it's a really fair point to make that Duran wasn't in the best shape for that 2nd fight. But I say this in putting the blame squarely on Duran. He drank and ate himself out of shape and he agreed to take the fight with such short notice.

Would it have mattered? Who knows? The video showed Leonard running circles around Duran and made it impossible for Duran to land anything consistently. He just couldn't box Leonard in to any corner at all. Really superb ring movement by Leonard.

And finally, it's sad that Duran kept up that wall about explaining what happened that night. You could see it in his eyes that he is hiding some feeling or honesty about quitting that night. But he just kept dancing around a direct answer. I respect Leonard for not pushing him on the issue. The eyes told Leonard everything he needed to know, which is probably that Duran was frustrated and afraid.

Duran is still one of the greatest fighters ever. But I was hoping for a Luis Resto-like confession.

Duran seems to have saved some money. Nice house, looked like he had a benz and other classic cars.

Ending was wack doe. Ehat exactly was Duran suppose to confess?

:dead:@ him with that helmet on in his living room. Its depressing to see what time does to people:to:

The documentary was good. But they could have saved us the whole meet up and talk it out bs.That part WAS disapointing.

Haven't seen this yet, but I swear I remember reading that one of Duran's excuses for this was that he ate some sort of peanut butter and tuna sandwich (or something like that) before the fight and that fukked with his stomach and he had to quit because of that....:pachaha:

I liked how they showed Duran beating Leonard's ass that first fight. Going through it in depth.

Leonard admitted to ducking a 3rd fight too, until they were both :flabbynsick:
