I was dying when they showed the Costas interview. Vince was too heated!!! :russ: I never knew that's what that interview consisted of. I always thought it was about wrestling in general. I bet had Vince been juiced up he woulda went in on that ass.

If it wasn't for the swagboyz I'd rather watch the xfl than what the nfl puts out now :hubie:

The NFL stole all their production values and tech.
So you are literally watching the xfl.
The NFL and media sat around shytting on it so long only to make it easier to take the production value for themselves.
All the angles the NFL is shot at now are the better higher quality xfl production value shots.

Vince more than likely was on a cycle then.
As he was involved in storylines at that exact time.

am I the only who thinks complete opposite ?

I actually enjoyed the brief time of XFL, but it feels to me like this only couldve been done in late 90s/early 2000s

today,
1)networks try to take the least amount of risk as possible. this shyt was a extremely risky (and rightfully so) venture
2)feminists would stir shyt up
3)CTE stuff would stir shyt up
4)there would be large money disputes over everything and NFL somehow wouldve wanted a cut. NFL was less intrusive back in the day
5)lawsuits. lawsuits everywhere as a result
6)vince mcmahon today is viewed as a complete joke. back then he was at least viewed as a really entertaining joke. WWF was pulling much bigger numbers back then and everyone was talking about it. not so much nowadays.

like, Im thinking a venture like XFL wouldnt even be entertained nowadays and die at the pitch phase because investors would laugh their ass off and invest in something less risky

This.

If vkm would have kept the boom going.
Instead of sacrificing it for the son in law.
He would have showed he knew how to really sustain a draw created from outside sources coupled with his own.
Yet since he did not,...this was doomed to fail as soon as it was announced.

If vkm really knew how to create quality.
He would be viewed in a much higher light and taken as a real draw.

I always thought it was a work. I still kinda do, though I think Costas is too stuck up to be apart of something like that

Did anybody else see parallels between the XFL story and the Trump presidency?

"We're going to make football great again! We have a plan... it's going to be HUGE"

Ad these dudes literally had no plan and just winged it. Had a spark when it started and then turned into a gigantic waste of money and resources.

Yep...
