I wouldn't call Steffi's era weak, it's just that she beat everyone's ass (until Monica came along). But yeah, that stabbing fukked up Monica bad. Those grunts though

The only way to silence the doubters and call her the Undisputed GOAT is to break not just Steffi's record, but Margaret Court's record of 24. That way she leaves NO DOUBT imo.

She came between two great eras. Also, Monica Seles was giving her that work.

I still don't agree necessarily. Whenever someone dominates their era, they automatically say everyone else is weak. I never liked that notion.
Steffi had 9 Grand Slam titles (including the Golden Grand Slam) before Monica won her first Major breh. During Monica's run in the early 90s, she did have her foot on Steffi's throat since Steffi only won 2 majors during Monica's dominant run from 90-early 93. And yes, Steffi went on to win 11 more majors after Monica went ghost after the stabbing and that flabby comeback (still don't know why you would go on a 2 year hiatus from a 1 cm stabbing).
And I don't see how Serena's era is all that great either if we gonna say Steffi's was weak. All of Serena's "rivals' have been jokes. The only competent comp she really had was her own sister.
Serena needs to be Court's record just so she can wave that in their face that she has the record for the most majors.
