Why were they in Oregon today when the game was on Fox?

They do this all the time. ESPN doesnt care who has the game.....it just so happens they get the majority of teh big games.

good point

meh the game on abc, theres really no marquee match this next week
they really make the decision on where to go mid week i think.

Gotcha but my issue is you could go on ESPN and caught Mizzou v. Toledo, ESPN2 and saw USCe v. E. Carolina, ESPN3 and saw Ole Miss v. Vandy, SJSU v. Auburn. Then throw in the LSU and Bama games on SECN. I live in ACC/ B1G country and you're blacking out those teams to further push another league that no significant portion of the region even cares about? Not buying it breh

ESPN has an agreement with the SEC through the SEC Network deal to broadcast all of their games on either the SEC Network or one of their other outlets.

It's part of the deal...they don't have similar deals in place with other conferences.

Problem is the slate of games next week sucks. In the old days Gameday would be broadcast from the studio. Unranked Tennessee vs top 5 Oklahoma is a struggle Gameday location I don't mind them going to then random ass lower level schools let them get some shine.

the fact that I only watched that game for no more than 5 mins and heard what I heard, says alot. LOL

Palmer's been bad at his job for years....so I'm not surprised...but I hear that type of stuff on all conference networks...it's the world we live in now...fair and balanced has given way to homer announcers being paid by conferences with the sole purpose of pushing the conferences agenda.

1. If you read my post, I didnt say it was worthy of a visit....but there's NO WAY you can sit with a strait face and say North Dakota St is more worthy of a visit. :comeon:

2. Nobody builds up obvious cupcakes to the level Palmer was doing. Everyone w/ half-a-brain knows Sam Houston isn't in the same world as LSU

3. I'm not anti-SEC or any conference, just calling a spade a spade. :yeshrug:

1. Tenn will get blown out and that game isn't worth a visit at all. Idk who N. Dakota St plays but this ain't the first time they've gone to a D2 school so they used this week as a week to go.
2. I didn't hear what Palmer had to say but the point still remains:all announcers build up both teams, to what level depends on the individual.
3. what is this spade you're calling? Tenn getting blown out has 0 effect on the secnetwork

ACC got a contract with them thru 2027. SEC the only Power 5 with no grant of rights deal

I don't know the specifics of the ACC deal...so I can't speak on that

but I do know the SEC deal was pretty implicit that they would broadcast all the games on one of the platforms with an emphasis on getting most of them to not be strictly ESPN3 or SEC+

it's part of how they wont the rights to run the network...some other bidders for the rights couldn't offer the same reach

ACC has it's own digital network that's on AppleTV but they are too dumb to do anything groundbreaking with it. The amount of dough they could pull in from subscriptions or game ala carte is there but they are only worried about content and not live broadcasting as they should be

Just to be clear, I haven't stated OU is going to blow Tenn out. That may or may not happen(altho I pray it does)....I'm just saying, they're clearly avoiding a situation where the SEC could POTENTIALLY look less dominant. They never go to D2 schools this early in the season. They usually go there very late in the season or at the end of the year after rivalry week.

And the spade is the clear SEC agenda everyone sees, that ESPN denies, and then goes a step further to accuse FANS of creating. LOL

I dont know about where u live, but the ACC Network comes on TV here. Ironically it comes on the same channel & time(noon) the SEC Network(the regional version before it became what it is now, and what used to be Jefferson Pilot sports) used to come on last year.

I don't know about any of this, but I'll be damned if they don't sound like NASCAR people. SEC speed? Not ready for SEC defenses? Nothing can prepare freshmen to play in the SEC. Its a little weird and markety? Sure its a money game, but the so called committee members will be watching these games too and constantly hearing this shyt. Its almost subliminal. They need a straight up hard qualification format and that shyt would end tomorrow.

whens the last time gameday went to a top 5 team hosting an unranked non rival? if it was about promoting or protecting the sec then they'd simply go to georgia/sc. either georgia looks great and its either more evidence that georgia is great or more evidence that sc isnt really good this year. or sc wins and theyre better than they looked in the opener or georgia isnt as good as they looked in the opener.
