like i said in the other thread, whats going to happen when folks like my grandma stop subsidizing these channels like espn and tnt that they dont watch a second of, yet pay the largest percentage of their cable bill to have? the rate they are shedding subscribers accelerates each month, which means these networks cant afford to pay these astronomical rights fees, along with falling ad revenue due to less potential eyeballs, etc. these contract amounts will be the first thing to fall. players have a handful of years to eat like this, it wont be the same on the next tv deals, if there even are some. who would pay 30 a month or some shyt to subscribe only to tnt each month? 50 a month just for espn? the leagues eventually are going to have to cut out the middle man and provide their own content widespread, but they wont see near the type of money they see now
