Instead, the Cubs ended up surrendering eight runs in the inning and shortly afterward lost the game, 8-3. When they were eliminated in the seventh game the next day, the "Steve Bartman incident" was seen as the "first domino" in the turning point of the series.[1]

I dont follow baseball but 8 runs in one inning? :heh: :deadrose:

I feel like half the reason this story got so much burn was cuz Bartman just looked like a complete loser and a fukk up. Ol Badluck Shleprock ass nikka...

:russ:breh was just chillin listening to the Game on the Radio like any other Baseball Fan and he didnt even know what was up till Security approached him after Folks threw the Beer on him......Funny thing is that 2 other Fans went for the Ball but Alou had to single him out and throw A Fit cuz he didnt get his Catch

Alou a ho for being a cry baby about that
He came out later and said that he couldn't have caught the ball regardless (which is probably bullshyt), but it was too late by then. Typical of a team that is born to lose to blame their failures on Bartman. Nevermind the fact that Alex Gonzalez booted a routine double play ball...off the bat of a young Miguel Cabrera...that enabled that inning to continue. Nevermind the fact they had Mark Prior pitching that game, and Kerry Wood pitching Game 7 (and for those that didn't follow then, Prior was on the road to being the best pitcher in baseball, and Kerry Wood was the second coming of Roger Clemens...of course neither of those things panned out, but they were that good back then). The born-to-lose Chicago Cubs lost that series, not no damn Steve Bartman (though as a lifelong Cub hater, may I wish eternal wealth & happiness upon Mr. Bartman and his family).

I read an article recently about Bartman. He still lives in the Chicago area, keeps to himself, and as stated above, has turned down numerous opportunities to ca$h in on the situation. Just wants to be left alone.

Basically. Gonzalez fukked up a sure double play that would have contributed to a better chance of the Cubs winning, but that does not really get mentioned by some of these losers.

Not putting this on all Cubs fans though, but the small group of idiots who made this guy have to fear for his life.

Made the Marlins victory in that series even better.
I came in here to say the same thing about Alex Gonzalez' error on the double play ball that would have ended the inning.
