Also I don't see the Hornets being worse this year than they were last.
First of all, Courtney Lee played like 25 games for them. And Al Jefferson missed a good chunk of the season too. Loss of Lin will hurt tho.
But what they're missing is that the Hornets are presumably getting MKG back who pretty much missed all of last season and is the heart & soul of their team

2 through 8 will be very competitive in the east this year. any of those other teams could end up as the 2 seed. and you never know if the cavs face a major injury 
The Knicks improvement has been overstated. A 40 win projection is an 8 win jump from last years record, which is more than fair considering the roster changes.
