Pau is a more complete player than Aldridge. Also as a third option Pau put up comparable numbers to Aldridge who the first option of his team.
Blake is mostly getting ranked high based off potential. People tend to overstate his flaws but he clearly has them. Dude isn't a good defender either.

They dont do it until like a couple weeks before the start of the season. I like their rankings better than ESPN's. Their format and the way the decide is much better.

Although if Carmelo actually bothered to play defense he would be top 10 easily. But he HAS to get out of the first round this year. He's gotten a Precious sized pass from fans and folks around the NBA. Only been out the first round one damn time in his career. He's on George Gervin status career-wise at this point

Pau is a solid defensive player, he's not great, but he's not even remotely close to being bad and certain can't be criticized for playing NO defense.
People overdo it with that "Pau is soft" stuff. There's truth to it, but don't let it blind you from the fact that he's one of the best big men in the league today. There's a reason why so many people were pissed about the Lakers being able get Dwight without having to give up Pau.

Smoove is a better rebounder, overall defender, passer, and their per are about the same. Plus Aldridge is never 100%. What about him makes him "stratospheres" ahead of Smoove?
