Taping signals was legal up until 2006 and the league sent out a memo (not a written rule either. Just in the game operations manual. A memo sent league wide)saying to stop any taping from the sidelines. As far as I know it's still legal from the stands and boxes.

Beli got in trouble cause they were caught doing it from the sidelines post that memo.

As far as I know its fairly common practice. Not saying its entirely ethical just heard no mention of the fact that generally speaking it's not even against the rules. It was all a matter of where it happened from.

I could be wrong so if I am feel free to correct me but that's what I've read.

Im sure taping practices and walkthroughs is different/illegal though.
