I do not think ESPN is going to be done in 2 years...but say 10 years...
I don't think people realize how bad a spot the network is really in...
Getting squeezed by the parent company, Disney, every year...which is why they had all the layoffs this year in the first place...
Fewer people ordering satellite and cable making it harder for them to negotiate those outlandish prices with tv providers...which is why espn on the go or whatever that shyt is called is being marketed so much...
NFL has it's own network...NBA has it's own network...MLB has it's own network...they can charge ESPN whatever outlandish made up number they want for games and ESPN has no choice but to pay because if they don't those sports will just put those games on their own networks...how many Thursday night games did NFL Network used to have...i think maybe 5...now they got one every week...NBA TV and MLB Network both do playoff games now...
So ESPN is running a business model that is inevitably going to fail...parent company telling them to cut cost, while their user base gets smaller as more people cut cable, while the major sports networks get their own stations and tell ESPN to pay up for games or they just going to put them on their own network...
I can't imagine Disney makes any money off of ESPN...
