I hope you're not insinuating that one average series (where he was dealing with an injury; conditioning issues) somehow negates his historically great regular season + how great he was in other series' in '15/'16 + how great he was in the regular season and playoffs the season before?

2 average finals, not one and I'm not insinuating shyt. Check my posts, I'm usually the one giving Curry props. The point was after his finals performance, Curry love fest dropped dramatically or am I exaggerating? During those 2 years, Curry and his family>Lebron and the NBA. Now people viewing Kyrie, Russ, and Harden over him. It's that easy for people to become prisoners of the moment, and that what happened after the finals. He was the 2nd leading vote getter and lead the league in early jersey sales, but the constant Chef talk is not the same. He was the face of the league the last 2 years, copy?

No one was bringing up conditioning issues (Steph included) when he was putting up 28-6-6 in the prior series against OKC, or when he came back in game 4 and dropped 40 on the blazers while yelling "IM BACK, IM BACK"

'In fact, a case can be made that Isaiah is having a better season than Isiah -- and a lot of legends -- ever did. Can Isiah now be considered the other Isaiah?"

If that is the thesis, is it wrong?
If the thesis is wrong though... then, yes.

Nah.

He was great in the '15 Finals (sans one bad game). I still don't understand how dudes watched that series and come to the conclusion that he played bad or even "average", especially given the fact the Cavs' entire defensive scheme was built around getting the ball out of his hands. And yet he still averaged 10 ppg more than any other Warriors player, and he still scored more points on better efficiency than any other player in the clutch, and he still generated more open looks and points through his gravity + passing + decision making than any other player in that series.

The entire finals I was like Steph needed surgery, just watch man. Right after, you're going to find out he needed shoulder and ankle surgery. Summer passed, and he never had surgery. I was at his SC30 Select Camp, and even though the energy wasn't the same as the year he won it all, dude was energetic as heck with the guards. I was :dwillhuh: the entire time. He most likely played with tweaks, all athletes do, but it had to be fatigue that plagued him during that finals. That was definitely an conditioning issue, same with Bron vs the Spurs.

I. People did bring up his injuries/conditioning issues
II. Why would Steph bring up shyt like that when he knows folk would use it against him, i.e. making excuses?
III. He said "IM BACK, IM BACK" in the heat of the moment during his first game back after rehabbing for the past two weeks. Quite clearly he wasn't the same player (before the injury) as the playoffs went along. The effects of that OKC series really took a toll on him.

NO 1 player is 100% healthy that deep into the season. It is what it is. Curry is great, but the all time great train (After 2 ATG seasons) stopped.

if its saying Isaiah Thomas is having a better season than any season Isiah Thomas ever had, is that wrong or wildly inaccurate?

Also Isiah Thomas never won an NBA MVP.
He won a Finals MVP. When the other Isaiah does it holler at us.

And how are we defining a better season? Just stats from two different eras? Not taking into account team success or the fact that one player CLEARLY dialed back his individual game in order for his team to be able to win. Does winning not matter anymore?

And you'd be right, players just have to deal with it. nikkas get injured every day, B. But it sure as hell doesn't negate what they've managed to achieve, though.
Curry is great, but the all time great train (After 2 ATG seasons) stopped.
And this is where you're wrong.

Mainly cuz he was league MVP but Iguodala won Finals MVP. Voters must have seen it differently too...

Like I've said many a time - it was all because of the LeBron lone wolf narrative going on at the time (Iggy being the antagonist whose team won), and them being so preoccupied with that, they weren't paying attention to what was actually going on.

They stopped paying attention to the league MVP during the finals that his team won? Even though he was playing great basketball? If you say so...
