What black man you know that leaves his house unafraid of death or false arrest? The responses to this are somewhat baffling but then again this is a staple of the forum lately. Women are harassed by men multiple times a day, every day. They are followed, insulted, touched, cat called, etc etc every fukking day. You don't see why a woman would be afraid of being in a closed space with a dude she isn't familiar with?
This has nothing to do with feminism. This has everything to do with women feeling uncomfortable and unsafe, and behavior that some people on this very forum argue isn't wrong or harmful. It's easy for you to sit on your computers and act incredulous about this because...the more and more you post, the more obvious it becomes you don't talk to women in real life. You don't have friends who are women. You try to argue this is just online feminism run amok, extremist hateful women who hate men. In reality this is everyday women.
Why don’t y’all dudes call out who exactly you’re speaking about instead of grandstanding with the y’all don’t get women lazy trope? I disagree because this isn’t a thing that happens often enough to be some big deal. Some people are weirdos but enough that this is a problem in most normal places people like Hill and Mina would be most times? NahThe responses to this are somewhat baffling but then again this is a staple of the forum lately. Women are harassed by men multiple times a day, every day. So should I have that same mentality?
Or do I suck it up?

I don’t know why people get online and use the whole go talk to women like nobody but them has. I’ve done that and as far as this topic goes the stuff ain’t never been mentioned so how are you trying expand the elevator into all women’s fears my man?Go ask a woman what she experiences on a daily basis then. I have female coworkers and friends and ex-girlfriends and family members who have told me wild stories that not only disgusted me, but make me very conscious of my own behavior and how a woman might perceive it.
The most obvious, and perhaps more prevalent, example would be men who don't take no for an answer. Women who are followed by a man asking them questions ("what's your name/oh so you not gonna smile for me/you got a boyfriend or nah/i want to talk to you/etc"). Go ask a woman if she's been followed or pursued like that before, I'm curious what you'll hear. We have so many posts and threads about women not wanting to talk to decent guys...but have you considered the fact that women are harassed all day/week/month/etc, to the point it's no surprised they'll blow off a decent guy who approaches them - they assume you're another jerk who won't leave them alone.
Women's personal space gets violated constantly. So of course they're gonna feel uncomfortable in a closed space with a random dude. None of this is rocket science. Instead of dismissing it, perhaps people should ask WHY women feel this way and what can be done about it.
It's happened, luckily not many times but getting stuck behind people at the mall, especially sawgrass Mills Mall will drive you insane.Yo you ever took the stairs and you're behind some chick,
but she's walking up too slow and there's no way around her so you end up looking like a stalker
People are reacting like people react when you make something that can happen but isn’t the most likely outcome a thing. Some of y’all are toooo consumed by fear. It only takes one time I get that but the way more likely outcome is people get to their floor and go about their business.I don’t see what’s wrong with what she said. I tell my wife and other female family members to be careful when on elevators with strange dudes. Especially in hotels and parking garages. Women get kidnapped and raped everyday.
Should they be extra cautious? Case by case basis.
Y’all reacting like she’s saying something foul is a strange reaction.
