Smh at jigga warriors claiming takeover was the better song :childplease:. He was rambling about trees falling over and shyt while every single word in ether litteraly made jiggas soul burn slow

See thats where we have to claim you to be borderline delusional

There is no single way Ether is a better track than Takeover

Mind you i did not say diss track..I mean track

Jay literally screamed TAKEOVER in that track

Not only were the lyrics on point...Takeover lyriics didnt sound like some diss track recorded from a battle at a hip hop club

Which where basically all the lines Nas spit on that track

Takeover was actually a complete song

Plz dont be the only delusional Nas stan to believe this

The only word to describe Ether is ether. How else can you describe just completely demoralizing a person and destroying their character and crushing their soul...with just a rap song.

Was Nas angry when he wrote the song? Did he just get lucky? Or was he just proving that he's the GOAT and nobody can fukk with him when it comes to writing. Probably all three...

You've got to be a damaged stan to get this excited about a decade old diss that was proven to all be lies and jokes about another nikkas looks as time went on. Yes it was funny, yes it was dope, but this excited?

My only problem with ether was the wack ass beat. It wasn't really a good song, funny diss lyrics but an average (edit) song. While takeover was a great 5/5 song but not as a good diss.

this minus takeover not being as good as a diss part

but anyways just thought i should leave this here

I think if you werent really listening to hip hop back then, if you were still just a a little kid you really can't fully comprehend nor appreciate the Jay vs Nas battle. It was our Pac/Biggie but far more lyrical and entertaining. You will always remember where you were when you heard Takeover for the first time. When you heard Ether for the first time. You will always remember the hallway arguments in high school or on the bus or train or in the cafe. Heated debates. Eminem was the biggest star at the time and so hyped it was so refreshing for Jay and Nas to take his spotlight in 2001 with great albums in BP and Stillmatic. My girl who was 11 when this thiis shyt all happened never gets it. This beef will forever be apart of my memory its one of the reasons Im still a hip hop head.

That shyt that make ya soul burn slow

I am a bigger fan of jay-Z than I am of Nas (I like them both)

But Ether just took the cake.

That Blueprint 2 song confirmed for me that Jay lost, he admitted it. But he still tried to get a few shots in at Nas on it as well.

Great rap battle/beef though, doubt there will ever be another one like.

I have to agree with you, although Ether was funny and more vicious. Takeover was the better record production wise, plus Jigga had to take on two great rappers on that song.

So French Montana can kill Nas too he just needs to hit Harry Fraud up :comeon:
