Just now on fb a friend of mine posted a "gofundme" for his previous college roommate who has cancer. That shyt just hit so close to home. Although I was never really close w/ the roommate it just really hit me, just three years ago I used to go to their dorm and hangout when we were all freshman and everything we was good now you're hearing he has cancer. Well anyways I with no hesitation donate what I can to the gofundme. A part of me is feeling a certain type of way because I know like a good 10-20% gives back like that with an expectation to be rewarded in the future. would you guys say that's a good or bad thing?
(1) If you consider a human being to be holistic i.e. body mind and spirit/soul and etc then...

(2) It is IMPOSSIBLE for the average human to do good without the expectation of something good in return...

(3) If you felt an unimaginable pain, every time you donated to a good cause, believe me, you will most probably never donate again...If you kept donating, it is probably because you get pleasure from pain, and thus, you are still getting something good in return...

In conclusion,
True altruism is a MYTH...People can get addicted to the intrinsic pleasure they get from doing so called "good deeds" and therefore, when you take into consideration the holistic human, nothing he/she does for other people first and for him/herself second...We always have our own interests first, and sometimes other people either gain or lose secondary to our own interests...

On an even bigger scale...

(1) There is NO such as thing as "good/bad and right/wrong"...It is all SUBJECTIVE...

(2) It is IMPOSSIBLE to determine the FINAL outcome of any decision we ever make, therefore, it is IMPOSSIBLE to state with 100% certainty that any decision we ever make is "good" or "bad"...

For example, you and other people donate money to help a person with cancer, you think this is a good thing, but what if that person gets better, gets married and has children, and one of those children turns out to be the next Adolf Hitler...? What then...?

Nobody knows what is really good or bad in the grand scheme of things...The time that we are a located on this planet is WAY too minuscule for us to even get a glimpse of the entire picture...

So, what does this all mean...It means, if it made you feel good to give the little bit of money you had, then take that and run with it...

If you feel like doing something (no matter how good or bad others or even yourself may judge it) just do it and get it over and done with...There is no point to not do it, however, there is equally no point doing it...

All there is at the end of our actions are the consequences other humans have in store for us...
