In CA and DC Ethiopians got a tight bond with AA. They make moves.
correct, and they don't c00n????.... I mean Ethiopians HAVE been living in DC for a long time now and are not recent immigrants with superior complex attitudes to AAs. I'm going by what people told me and the vibe I got when I was in DC.

I thought they were in DC since the 80s or 90s especially when Ethiopia was suffering from that famine?I really started noticing Ethopians (in noticeable numbers) since 2002-2003. I had no idea they took over like that though. I have to swing by downtown Silver Spring and see what' poppin around City Place.
I'm not from DC nor am I Ethiopian, but I think they do what other immigrant groups to when they get here.....leave some of the home country traditions back home. I'd be surprised if the two groups don't inter marry heavily in America. What ethnic group dominates DC? oromos or amharas?
It really depends on the religion. Christrian oromo do tend marry christian amaharas.I'm not from DC nor am I Ethiopian, but I think they do what other immigrant groups to when they get here.....leave some of the home country traditions back home. Ethopians in DC good for charging you an arm n a leg for parking, making good pizza, and having young women that dont fukk with AAs rarely

Earliest ones came in the 30s and 40s but when the Eritrean independence war happened they ran away and escaped to Europe then Oakland in the 60s and 70s. When the Derg took over Ethiopians came in the 70s.I thought they were in DC since the 80s or 90s especially when Ethiopia was suffering from that famine?
Disagree. I actually think it's the reverse that because these immigrant groups are away from their country of origin they go the extra mile to hold on or preserve certain norms from the country of origin especially if there is a slim to inexistent chance of going back (Ethiopia after the famine was deemed hopeless). I grew up with a couple of Nigerian guys born and raised in the US both Igbos and they ended up marrying Igbo women as they were constantly being reinforced that notion by their parents.
However, there are still some cases where full assimilation does occur whether it is marrying someone from a different ethnic group that you wouldn't even entertain at home or marrying a non-African. But if you asked the parents, they would like to preserve some of the traditions.
