The black gang aren't drug dealers they're p*ssy peddlers and now apparently gun runners. Laurie and nem are their drug suppliers for the hoes. They aren't 2 rival cartels that would escalate to shooting up one another immediately.
Okay.

But this 80s frat comedy “prank” style get backs don’t portray either of these as serious.

If stealing Rue was that important then dropping animal poop or poison a bird as revenge doesn’t convey the seriousness of the situation.

It more like Jack black kicking a dog as revenge for destroying a bike in Anchorman.

She was always an airhead but they’ve made her even more of a caricature of herself in this season to the point it doesn’t even seem like Sweeney is acting, it’s like a parody of her character this season

I remember her being dumb. And they’re definitely leaning into woman doesn’t understand how much stuff costs trope. But her complete lack of self awareness and not saving face in front of a room full of people who might be doing business with Nate is infuriating.

Also, they’ve been out of high school like 5 years max. Even if Nate walked right into Cal’s business, who the fukk just gave him 1/2 million. I get it, loan shark. But damn. How do neither he or Cassie have any sense of self preservation.

Yeah but they’ve doubled down on her being an airhead now to the point she’s playing a parody or caricature of her character now

I guess it’s season 3 of just fully leaning into Fever dream territory for every arc. Seasons 1 and 2 had some off the wall shyt, but were still more or less grounded in reality.

Yup, Alamo is a sex trafficker. Knew it in episode 1 because you can't get a crib (and muscle) like that just off pimping and strip clubs. Sex trafficking is the moneymaker. He might even be on that Epstein shyt too and trying to turn Rue into his own Ghislaine Maxwell.

Ol girl who fell off the wagon after finding out her best friend overdosed is a doped-up sex slave somewhere now.

This show became extreme a few episodes into S2, this is just a continuation. People dont act like real people since S1. Alamo would have the sense to get the pig at least pff the club floor before shooting it. They've continued to make Cassie ridiculous, but her being materialistic is completely new.

The season is entertaining though, same level as S2 so far imo.

Episode 3 was entertaining just for all of the wedding fukkery and then the shyt that happened with Nasty Nate and his I.O.U.'s :dead:

But this shyt is not even the same show anymore at all. It's basically become a knockoff Tarantino joint. But the writing isn't nearly as clever.

If this wasn't the final season or a season with only 8 episodes, I'd be done here. But if I can finish The Idol I can do 5 more episodes of this.

Was the Nate beat down supposed to be funny? I kept wanting for it to move along, a farcry from the cathartic Fez beat down in S2.

That Rue phone call with "Fez" was so cringe. What purpose did that serve?

When she got the collect call I thought Fez heard thru the federal criminal grapevine that the rednecks were planning to kidnap her and was telling her to watch out …but nope, he’s on a recorded line brainstorming his escape lol

Show seems outlandish like a parody of itself now…on some Fast and Furious launching cars into space type shyt, but it’s entertaining can’t lie…i watched every episode of true crap like BMF so I won’t make this my tv snob redline :mjlol: …it does annoy theme fukk outta me how Nate went from a super intelligent pyshcopath to this p*ssywhipped soft ass cuck scammer …he’s an entirely different character

I've noticed a lot of confusion/critiques around Nate's character turning into a simp, and it's probably not as deep as this -

But I'd imagine this saccharine existence he's created for himself, in similar fashion to someone becoming a Born-again Christian, is why he ends up desperately and clumsily (hence trying to play checkers against loan shark Chess players) trying to put distance between this new version of himself and Evil Nate. There was some not-so-subtle foreshadowing in this latest episode when Cassie was airing him out for conning all of his neighbors, even her emphasizing all he does is lie, lie, lie, ad infinitum.

That hit a crescendo of the popping of the cork, and then his best man saying "it's just a pressure thing, you know, corks just pop off", against the backdrop of the menacing look on his face.

And what might have been expected for the true Nate to reveal himself from that point forward, we're hit with the switch of him hitting rock bottom as his 'new self'.
