I honestly don't understand how either of them (or both) haven't been clapped yet. These people are HATED.. ESPECIALLY in their own states.

If the shoe was on the other foot and they were Republicans holding up Trump's agenda it would have been happened. Plus most people (particularly those who vote Democrat) are completely oblivious to what's going on. They wanted a break from Trump. They don't give a fukk about the intricacies of politics and just see Biden as ineffective.

Actually you are correct. I did not leave any room for nuance in what I said. The thing is when it comes to big legislation, if regular folks cannot tell you in simple terms what has been done to help them, it basically never happened at all. The biggest thing that I would say Biden pushed was the family checks as that is something meaningful that should stick around in the long term. There are other initiatives as well but nothing he is doing is groundbreaking that yet defines his presidency. BBB and voting rights would be gigantic capstones. No president sits in office and does absolutely nothing but the somethings that they do aren’t always indicative of the larger direction the country is going in. Mind you if you read my full comment, I said it has been less than a year for his presidency which is a fact. I have no doubt he will do some big things but most of it currently is not getting us over the hump to push things in a progressive direction. Incrementalism makes people say things like I just said only they will mean it.

Fair, and I think that's the problem right? We live in a system where regular citizens can actually advocate for change in a meaningful way (or at least attempt to do so) but no one can be bothered to understand what's going on. Post-modern apathy.

I agree. I used to be one of those “both sides“ type of people who would never make a meaningful distinction. Nowadays if I talk about what someone is doing in Congress, it takes all of two minutes to go to congress.gov and verify that something is in the works or not. I am 100% sure most people don’t know that Congress.gov gives you all of the information you need to make a decision rather than listening to a talking head say “blah blah wants to do this”. If he said it took place, there is usually video footage or it is archived online. There is no excuse not to know these things but most people don’t care. I’m still having to tell people to this day who ask what is in the vaccine that they can go to cdc.gov and see the ingredients. But then you get excuses like “how do I know they are telling the truth“.literally everything is public record but people form big opinions without knowing what they are talking about.

100% on everything you said. To add-on, Beltway culture is so unbelievably competitive and power there is so diffuse that every piece of legislation is endlessly discussed and analyzed by wonks, journalists, and insiders.

There's no vast conspiracy to keep information from the electorate, you can barely get anyone in the town to agree on what day it is.

The sad part is Biden not being able to get shyt done pretty much proves the people who said Warren or Sanders wouldn't have been able to pass anything right.
Biden can't even pass voting rights legislation, can't pass the entire BBB shyt, or get rid of the filibuster due to dikkheads in his own party
It's pretty much 0% chance any of the "pie in the sky" stuff Sanders or Warren were promising would have got thru. We're fukked cause it's a 1 party system masquerading as a two party system. It's not right and left it's far right + moderate right
