A lot of rappers at most hope to beat the other rapper in a battle but Nas the only dude I ever seen elevate from a battle that wasn't unknown. Nothing about ether was predicable. Not the beat choice or the way he chose to rap which made it so much more potent while Jay was trying to be cool the cool guy was off the hinge.
