Yes, this is inspired by that post on Reddit/Facebook/Twitter.

I've been gaming with the same folks mostly online for a good 5 years or so myself. We originated at Gamespot SW but branched out later. It's kinda cool to grow up around people and really get to know them and their life.

There's a few folks I'd honestly love to meet IRL cause the SSB split screen would be stupid fun

Nope but it is a good way to meet your old friends if they still have their account active on the server.

Yes. When i was in my teens I played a MMO on ps2 called everquest online adventures. Became friends with an older couple i gamed with on there . They hooked a young breh up too. They sent me a wireless controller when mine broke. I'm in Ohio and they was in CA. Played with them alot over 2 years or so.

Then later I started playing halo 2. Met a few guys on their i played with daily . Moved onto call to duty with them and still to this day talk to one of them but he don't game any more really .

Also played FF11. Got cool with a dude from Cleveland and his then gf who played with us.

I was addicted to that game as a teen. I played religiously like a full time job.

Damn i miss those days sometimes

A good amount actually, I've befriended alot of Ppl on XBL since Cod4, I would see something with the LA area code or something that let me know they were from Cali and I'd hit them up and see if they wanted to party up and play, its crazy cuz some were just early to late teens and we been friends for over 10 years in real life, im older then most of em so I feel :flabbynsick: when I remember carrying them On Cod4 when they were like 13-15 and now They're adults with careers and families and shyt

yeah. i had this one dude who i played with on left 4 dead/2 xbox 360 together for like 4 years. we would link up at least once a week and play for 3-4 hrs avg. breh was a cac from oklahoma but was real cool and always sounded high. said if i was ever in okc to hit him up and i could stay over his house. his wife is a nurse and breh was a eletricial/hvac technician.

i havent spoke to breh in years especially since i been on ps4. hed always ask for my phone number but i always gave him the bushes cuz i only give it to people i see on daily basis.

Socom 2 days. Two brothers from same state as me. We use to be in the same clan back in them days. Turns out dudes family lived next door to me so they'd be around to visit and I never knew :mindblown:. I only found this out after months of playing with them. After that we consistently chopped it up and hung out all the time. Still do to this day.

Well this community is a result of this So yeah :francis:

I tend to run with online e friends more than not, and I have about a dozen or so from og Xbox days. Some have their kids playing, its weird. But the best relationships developed before party chat imo. Now it's harder to develop these types of relationships...

To put shyt into even more context...

I've actually had two close brehs die that I've known.

One, when we were 16-18 years old, he was actually struck by lighting in a soccer field at his school. Our friend - who was his high school friend - informed us. RIP IceMan. This is before he every got to see Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

Another of our friends, Progamer - was playing with us over say and then he told us he was going to the mall.

We found out from his boy that he was killed in a car crash on the way back.

shyt kind of made the rest of us get closer. :mjcry:

Yeah, Kode from here actually. He moved to my home state some time either just before or just after I left, tho I didn't know him at that time, but we played many fighting games and other games together for years and talked/chatted plenty of times off the boards/games, either via g-chat/hangouts or phone/text. When I went home to visit last, a couple years back, we met up and played some offline Marvel, Dragon's Crown and a few other games he had on pc. He's actually helped me out a bit with schooling and career advice as well. Crazy coincidence, we both had our first kid within 1 month from each other, so while our wives were pregnant, we sent each other baby shower gifts and kept each other updated on the whole progress and gave each other heads up the day our kids were born, replete with baby photos. Despite very rarely gaming with each other now (he bout retired from fighters and we generally playing totally different games at different times now), we speak at least a few days out a week about pretty much whatever (family, work, games, music, tv/movies, etc.) We used to be chat daily when I worked my old job, but now my schedule got everything fukked up. Funny enough, I'm chatting with him at this very moment, lol. Looking back, it's been nearly 10 years since I first gamed with him and talked with him on the boards here (well, sohh, but ya know). I definitely consider him legit homie now.

Another cat, not currently on here, but from the sohh days, I met in person thru shared gaming and anime back in the day that I chilled with in person a few times at his crib. He actually introduced me to my wife. There's been a small handful of other cats on here that I would consider being IRL friends with like that if we lived closer and whatnot.
