Ever had a homie try to clown you in front of a female to impress her?

Me and one of my boys stopped at a 7/11 earlier. We were on our way to a little get-together and decided to grab some snacks so that we didn't show up empty-handed.

We walk up to the cash register and there was a pretty young thang working behind the counter. I wouldn't go out of my way to approach her if I saw her, but I wouldn't turn the p*ssy down if she threw it at me. :ehh:

My boy started talking to her and I could tell she really wasn't feeling him like that. He kept trying to joke with her and she wasn't laughing at anything he was saying. She even rolled her eyes a few times, but he still wouldn't take the hint and keep it movin'.

As I was picking up the bag he looked at me and said "C'mon Burg, you can't even pick up that little grocery bag? Where are ya muscles at?" and then he flexed his bicep thinking that would impress the cashier. I'm a skinny dude (though I'm working on bulking up), don't get me wrong, but I wasn't struggling to pick up the bag.

She looked at me and said "Your friend has a lot of jokes, doesn't he?" I said "Yeah, he thinks that because he's Kevin Hart's height, that automatically makes him a comedian."

We both laughed at him and when my boy and I went out to the car, he told me that I went "too far". I ended up taking an Uber home tonight. :francis:

Anybody ever been in this type of situation? How did you deal with it?

Back in the days I use to see shyt like my 'friends' would try to seem better than me in front of women. I just stopped hanging out with people like that. Either you're going to help me get laid going out or you're a cock blocker. I cut people like that off

True. I might have to cut old boy off, 'cause he's real insecure acting and the shyt is getting annoying. :francis:

I think that's kind of normal. Sounds like you and your homie got a little hoemtional.

When me and my friends go around females we always clown each other off gp. It's a way for both of us to show off and have a little friendly competition for the ladies. We wingman for each other too though. Nobodies ever gotten in their feelings over jokes like that.

Nah, you did the right thing in this instance simply because your homie was trying to front by using you as a prop while low key dissing you around the cashier but once you flipped the script & gave him a taste of his own medicine he acted like a bytch. But it's always best that your crew has certain rules amongst you to abide by at all times & one of them is don't disrespect, jone or try to embarrass each other in front of women ever.

True, but I thought this was an unwritten universal rule.

At least, that's what my father told me. :dame:

Read: my homie went too far and clowned me on my height, in front of a girl.

:myman: Your father is a very wise man but you still had dudes back in the day hating & clowning their friends to show out in front of females back then too.

However, the main difference is now it's much worse with the younger generation of African American adults because a lot of them are overly emotional partly due to females being the primary parent & a lack of older, positive male guidance.
