What does "sounding white" sound like?

those people make me vomit.
I'm talkin a girl who's parents did well took her out to the burbs and raised her out there. The mentality of those girls is different, and if they are smart they will have the dual-consciousnesses of knowing what it is to be black but also taking things they learned in the suburban communities. Just being her, if a black girl speaks correctly that isn't going to diminish her blackness to me.
I have come to find that these girls, to me, are more pleasant to talk to, are more social and easy going than their city counterparts. Which is more inline with my personality. However, they often have a naivete that can be annoying.
Im not slamming my city dwelling sistas, i love them too but for different reasons. Its all about what works for you. A girl from round the way, gon have a better understanding of that everyday struggle, that's a major quality to have.
I think the best is really when you get a girl who had that upbringing but also seriously studied the struggle in college, met other Black folks from different backgrounds and became profoundly educated about the struggle. That way they can be empathetic but and knowledgeable, but not naieve or arrogant about it.
It's a hard thing to find though. I knew a girl that might've met that qual, but she didn't know shyt about what Black people actually go through. Finally got her to take a class on Black Politics and Revolution, and this socially dumb broad dropped it because it was "too depressing". I couldn't talk to her anymore after that.
I hate, HATE when Black people do shyt like that. Luckily, I've only met 2 or 3 that were so stupid and willfully ignorant to live in their fantasy land. Imagine how pissed off I was when she did this and the white girl who was friends with her stayed in the class and took that shyt seriously.

:ohh: word, see yeah i hate that too, in fact i hate anyone without a sense of history about their culture. Its saddening. I too have only run into a few, but they ARE keepers when you get them.
The white girl would talk to me after class like:
White Gal: "I can't believe they did that shyt! I was so angry!"
Me: "Word?"
White Gal: "I'm gonna volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club and tutor some kids downtown."

Me: "At least she actually cares..."
