I dated a girl in High School that could barely read. But its not that she couldn't read at all.
She would just spell everything wrong and read incredibly slow or just guess at words.

I eventually found out that most stuff she knew was just through memory, like she knew what a stop sign was but I'm not sure really that she read the word 'stop'... she just remembered that it said stop and could identify it.

But she was only 18, and was still trying to learn... so she can likely read better now.
She married a lawyer.

I kinda miss her.

She wasnt stupid or anything. Just couldn't read.

I think its cause she went to some weird christian elementry and middle school. She was still there in their HS program.
