How does anybody win in this situation? Whats the likelihood of this impacting the US?
Holding GME and the shorters who own longs in the market default due to the crash.

GME is overshorted to fukk and more importantly the float is owned by people with cash accounts and registered shares. Market volatility won't shake em

I disagree. The chinese economy is still very insular actually. It will impact demand though and our economy will take a hit but not the same as in 2008.
Worse! Every last indicator is much worse than what led to 2008. They calling this "The Great Reset" for a reason. Life as we knew it will never be the same.

Ping An is the largest institutional holder of HSBC stock. it's been reported people can't get their money out of Ping An bank and they're owned by chinas largest insurance company Ping An Insurance. If they go down, there'll be a massive selloff of HSBC stock. If HSBC stock decreases in value significantly then anybody who was using their HSBC holdings as collateral will get margin-called.

you under-estimate what governments can do. they re-wrote the rules in 2008.

in the scenario you describe you stop it by not dumping HSBC holdings.

like what?
Evergrande isn't the only one to default, There are at least 5 others. And the US is heavily invested in all, The global supply chain is at a basic stand still, inflation is the highest since 2008, American debt is the highest its ever been, The US stock market is so over leveraged that a crash is imminent. There is a shortage of labor for skilled trades while unskilled workers are quitting by the millions. The price of lumber and other building materials are triple what they were 2 years ago. Effects of the eviction moratorium has yet to be felt. Oil is projected to be $100 a barrel within the next 6 months which is nearly double what the average Has been.

These are just off the top of my head. There are many more reasons that will pop up in a Google search. This has been brewing for years. The pandemic is helping bring it to fruition quiccker

They rewrote the the rules to address the symptoms. The problem itself was never corrected.

answer questions no one asked brehs :hhh:

correct statements that only exist in your head brehs :hhh:

and in any case your thinking is limited. much as opportunities are outcomes anything between root and terminating leaf is a cause or a symptom depending on the scope and level of the discussion.
