What sucks about these DNA tests is that if a relative does it then part of your DNA is captured as well. If a full blooded sibling takes the test then they have 100% of your DNA. Even though I never did one my DNA is known to these gene demons.
thats the reason why I convinced my immediate family members not to take that test. folks don't realize they selling out their entire family tree with those tests and it only takes one person in the family to do so.
Yeah, I wish that was an option for me but my siblings don't gaf about learning anything about the risks of giving your DNA away.

Unless you grew up off the grid, never went to a doctor etc., the gubmint has plenty of info on you. I get people being afraid of DNA tests but...it's like guns. Having your 2A rights won't protect you from the gubmint. We saw what happened with Israel and those pagers. If an entity wants to get you....they have plenty of ways to do it.

There are billions of people on the planet. It's crazy how someone in the middle of bum fukk nowhere that displays zero exceptionalism thinks that their DNA is so valuable that it's being sold. It's spit. It's not even blood.

I don't see how this is so bad, outside of the market manipulation going on. They're pivoting towards pharmaceutical research. Most pharmaceutical companies are privately owned, for obvious reasons. I expect a 23andme to be purchased by a private equity firm like Blackstone bought Ancestry, within the next decade. Or maybe a tech company.... I know Google is getting into Healthcare research with the help of AI. They be buying our data.
