It's crazy how many "real nikkas from the streets" I met in construction that would turn into "yes suh boss, anything you say boss" ass nikkas because some white kid in a camo trucker hat who had no real power pushed his work onto them, pretend he's some type of leader and chump them for a check. While I used to just ice grill the white dude and walk off to find someone with real authority.

I don't recommend working construction long term, it's a low quality profession with low quality people

I don't believe that working in construction is a low quality profession at all. I know many people making 150k a year. I know to people on this site, that's nothing. But in the real world, it is. Especially for people entering a career with no education. They also don't give a fukk how many felonies you have. It gives everybody a chance. So of course you'll find low quality people, but you'd find that anywhere.
I don't know how it is in Texas but in NYC, whites are the minority in the field.
Also you learn shyt that you could do at home. Fix up your own shyt. Do man shyt. Always an opportunity to do side work or start your own shyt. My boss charges $114 an hour for me. I see nowhere near that. But best believe that that's in the works

To keep out competition from whom? Other whites? I know how unions started. Dudes were working with 18 hour days and only getting paid for like 3 or 4. So they got tired of the shyt and fought back. Unions aren't perfect but I love the benefits I get from being in 1. At the current job site I'm at its only like 5% white. So it may be different in NY as there's so much different kinds of people
