It was a great show, but I feel like a lot of people forget about it. Even on here, it doesn't get a lot of props and I don't understand why.

The show was consistently hilarious, never really fell off, and the reruns are still every time. Plus, it had some jewels on life as a black person in America. What does everyone else think?

yeah i slept on this show while it was airing (came on friday's which means death) but i appreciated it after it went off the air.

As far as modern day sitcomes, yeah, it was really good. I think most people compare on larger scale though when it comes to benchmarks and that knocks it a little lower. But, it definitely needs to be respected as one of the top black shows. No black sitcom really ever get love tho (cept for Martin). Everybody always mentions Friends, Married With Children, Seinfield, etc. Only black shows nikkas refer to as goat or great status be full fledged dramas like The Wire & shyt.

This and the Bernie Mac show, loved them shyts genuinely funny with genuinely good stories and REAL moments. Shyt dealt with racism on an adult AND on a kids level, not a lot of shows would do that shyt (with the Italian kid).

Plus his mom slapping him so hard he turns asian is one of the funniest shyts I ever seen:

Never really got into it. If you're going to be a single-cam, shows like Atlanta or Eastbound & Down is more my speed. Family shows rarely get me invested.

Straight up doesn't get the love it deserves. I remember I made an alias of his teacher here, and nobody even realized it was a tv character even with the profile pic and got banned for racism
And If it aired today pretty sure nikkas would be screaming c00n at Rock after every episode because he made light of the teacher's and redhead kid's racist comments
