MC New York never claimed New York? Hmm...

not when people knew him he didn't... he claimed Cali. For a nikka to be from NY and end up claiming somewhere else, that's not a W for NY. That's an L. It means there was something about Cali that made him rather claim Cali.

They not full time rappers. That's like saying when Jordan came back in 2001 he was the King of the NBA. Jordan still put up great performances but he was not dominating the sport no more, there was new potential in Kobe and (a couple years later) LeBron.

Like I said, Jay-Z hasn't even catered to the hip hop community since American Gangster. Jay-Z raps for hipsters, Oprah's audience, ect. That nikka don't represent the essence of New York. Really he's just a mystical super hero to most nikkas from New York.

How'd I know you'd have a retarded nonsense response :what:? How are they not full time rappers? Jay-Z just released an album, Nas album just came out last year and already working on his next. They tour and do promo shyt just like every other rapper does.

I say relevancy because nikkas can't be King forever, there has to be a successor. Jay-Z is a part time rapper. Plus, he's not even hip hop no more. He caters to the white hipster crowd, lets be real. The only reason why nikkas say Jay-Z or Nas is the king is because New York doesn't have no real potential as far as future Kings of the region. Who got the thrown next...ASAP, French, Joey Badass? :aicmon:

Are you fukking dumb. Being a King is a lifetime position. This isn't a fukking democracy or new age parliament. Kings lose the throne when they die or are defeated. Nas snatched the crown after biggie died with ETHER, but once Hov became def jam president and gnauze kept shytting on his own Qb fam then Flopped with streets disciple he was losing his grip and Hov recovered from Ether and with gnauze groveling at his feet in a truce...he officially claimed the throne. No ones beat him since.

If you are talking about 2pac he was never that narcissistic to try and claim King of anything. Name one song where 2pac claimed that he was the King of anything...He represented the West Coast as a whole.

Anyway, back to the thread topic. Who is the King of New York since that's all NY nikkas talk about? :ohhh:

a true king never has to say he is the king. He takes it which pac did.

and those west coast cats loved him so much they were willing to go to war for him.

That wasn't the case at all with Pac. His mother sent him to Cali at age 17 from Baltimore (how you think he met Jada Pinkett), to quote unquote "save" and change his life. Because she didn't want Pac caught up in the violence B-More. Clearly Cali was no better. And Pac use to visit the Bronx (where he was born) a lot to visit his NY side of the family, even right before his death. The point is, it doesn't matter how hard people try to erase that part of Pac's life, it can't be. Bottom line is, he's from the East Coast, no matter what way you slice the pie. Doesn't matter if he claimed it not. Those are facts you can't change. You also can't change the fact that he went to performing arts high school, that he took dance courses, and that he was a back up dancer for Digital underground, before he was 2 Pac thug life from Death Row records.

You also can't change the fact that he came in the game as an actor before he was a rapper. You can't change the fact that his birth given name is Lasane Paris Crooks. This is the only thing I hate about these so-called Pac enthusiast. They don't want to accept all the aspects of his life. Only part of it. And what grates my nerves even more is, y'all clown every other rapper with similar backgrounds. And what makes me even more annoyed, is the fact that a lot of y'all were in diapers when he was in his prime and when the East/West thing was blown up. So what do SOME of y'all 90's babies really know? Nothing.I'm just keeping it real. It is not what you internet junkies make sh*t out to be at all.

Kendrick Lamar was like 8 sets below Wu-Tang at Bonnaroo or Coachella or one of those peck fests. How are you gonna be King of anything when you cant even out-bill New Yorks most ancient group? ahaha

And as far as this whole King of NY question. Number one, NOBODY IS MAD AT KENDRICK. Damn, sick of you mofos thinking that this is beef, when it's not. Hip Hop has always been a competitive sport. And this whole Kendrick thing was nothing but friendly competition. All Kendrick did was tell his current peers to step their bars up. And guess what, the responses came. Whether they were from the people he talked about or not. Hip Hop stepped up. Lyrics got the spotlight again for a second. The only reason Kendrick was able to light this fire, is because y'all let so many clowns slide and get away with sh*t for so long, all because they were making money. It's not beef or coastal war. Two, what do you mean by relevant? Because you can't measure relevance by sales and buzz, because there's plenty of clowns in the game who have all they hype in the world, but can't sell an album to save their lives. No matter where they're from. So explain relevance first. Cause it's not the charts, hits, money or none of that. Hip Hop (not rap) never was about that.

I dont give a fukk about anything you just said B... My whole point was that he claimed Cali... It's in his music. You just went on a super dumb rant claiming that I did, quit putting words in my mouth B.
