The other day someone I respect told me that Akademiks is a reflection of the actual Complex writing staff and a subset of fans that don't know enough about the history and culture of Hip Hop in general. It's a shame, because Budden will continue to walk all over Akademiks, because he doesn't know enough to keep up in debates.

But it was interesting to get that insight, and explains why so many fans hate on Complex for being prisoners of the moment.
