Don’t Be Like He-Man
So in a previous life I was a programmer, usually a programmer/dba.
Mainly I was started with SQL Server being a DB developer & Programming with Visual Basic, PHP, C#, Java and a few other languages that I did not enjoy, like Perl.
But I owe it all to C++, that is the language that did by far the best job in making me learn the craft of programming and programming logic.
You can even say that me learning C++ was a milestone in my life, it is not only what made me successful in my career when I was doing programming but also helped shape my mind.
In my current job I am an SE but also get involved with marketing. Engineers say I am more marketing then technical and Marketing says I am way too technical.
But to me i'm not more one that the other necessarily, i'm a programmer, my mind is a programmer.
You have to be creative in programming to find creative ideas to solve problems and you need that technical mind to create the code, technically logical.
So to me programming married the two making them into one.
Being creative vs. technical, that line becomes blurred in my opinion if you are a programmer, maybe some of you would disagree. I may depend on what kind of projects you've had.
My point is everyone should learn C++, it should be part of early high school.
I am sure this world would be a better place if everyone learned C++.
Imagine if everyone was a programmer, you think we wouldn't have taken climate change more seriously long ago? Perhaps we would already have a solution by now.
We would be smarter in every sense of the way that a citizen should be in an advanced society.
