NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland has learned that Robert Fisher, the man who raped and killed a 3-year-old girl in Rensselaer, has died in prison.

Fisher had just begun serving his sentence of 20 years to life at Elmira Correctional Facility.

Fisher killed little Josefina Cunningham in July of 2023.

When he was sentenced last month, Judge Debra Young lashed out at Fisher, who drugged the little girl, raped her, killed her and tried to cover up what he’d done.

He kept his head down during the proceeding.

After sentencing, Josie’s relative said: “the case deserves the death penalty.”

Fisher was 34. We have not learned his cause of death.

It's not hard to kill someone so I don't think there HAD to be multiple attackers, sure maybe, but it could've been one dude who saw the opportunity and stomped the demon into the shadow realm in the showers or the guards could've placed dude in a cell with someone knowing it would be the last time he was seen alive. All that matters is the job was done and I'm grateful for however it happened.
