I think some morals are probably natural and present from birth but then are molded based on our environment and other influences. You also have to remember that human beings don't come out perfect and there can be many brain abnormalities that would cause differing perceptions of what is moral, or if they even care at all about morals. So where do they derive from and why? If evolution is pushing forward it seems it would do so in the most efficient manner possible, which leads me to believe the way we act would be beneficial towards our advancement. For example, most of us are heterosexual if for no other reason it's deeply embedded in our subconscious that we must procreate. Or the fact that we eat and sleep because these things are essential to survival. So we're not just doing things, we're doing things to survive.
So it seems our morals, or the taking of time to set up laws would all be aimed at our survival. Even religion, which gives people hope, would thus be a natural stage in evolution. Sick people clinging to God may give them the strength and hope to survive even if no supernatural force is.
Not everything that comes from evolution is beneficial, much of it is random, and things that may have once been beneficial becomes obsolete and are no longer needed and are eventually, discarded.
We're heterosexual because that is what our environment/genetics has shaped you to become. In many older civilizations, had you been born there, you'd be fukking both women and men, without any problem at all with it. That would've been natural for you, growing up in those societies, but not so natural here, right now.
Only once we don't have to worry about "surviving" can we even ponder these questions or care about another human's sexual preferences.
I think an animal's natural will to survive >> thinking god is on your side and will save you
