“It’s almost like you have no emotion with it, that they attach the bodies to it, they’re going to be out of jail tomorrow anyway; nothing is going to happen to them anyway.”

The NYPD arrested over 50,000 people last year for low-level marijuana offenses.

As it turns out 86% of them are African American and Latino.

This needs more exposure.

Sadly I'm not surprised. NYPD is the most corrupt police force out there.
They got competition with LAPD, NOPD, Houston PD, Philly PD, Detroit, Chicago (I think Miami/Liberty City had their jersey retired, though).....

Wonder what a NCAA style bracket of worst PDs in the nation would look like .....?

Tbh i doubt this is true. I know some real nikkas. Never met a real nikka who the cops planted evidence on. Not even once. Never even heard of some absurd shyt like that happening unless we're talking like the 80s-90s.

And isn't it in the best interest of the police to not meet any arrest quotas? They want their crime stats dropping. Not rising. I understand that their funding is based off of arrests but they still don't wanna make it seem like the cities getting worse. They can meet their little arrest quotas harassing people for petty crime. Just like they already do.

Hence the planting of evidence. They'recht not trying to plant a body or a brick on you. Just a small amount of drugs.

Well that makes sense. But I find it incredibly hard to believe that a cop would risk his badge + his freedom to book people on possession charges. Especially when it would be easier for them to just go harass actual drug users/dealers and pull in petty arrests that way.
