I just would like to know more about what drove him to say this dream isn't working anymore? Why quit (if he can retire by 40)? Why not do it a little longer and build some type of business to where he doesn't have to work at Costco? The Costco job sounds solid, I guess but it seems he had an opportunity for more....

On a forum similar to this one so not sure how reliable it is. General feeling is they drug test an interview and maintain the right to test you again if they think you coming to work high.
