Just listening to these stories is upsetting. Yet they "can't see" any privilege
They've never had to hear stories like these from their ancestors. These textbooks have the nerve to call it "indentured servitude" but bro was talking about working sometimes all day and night and DARE to say you tired.
Folks will NEVER understand what true resiliency looks like. It looks and sounds like these folk in that video. Being cast astray when there was no more legal slavery, no use for them now, but finding a way to survive and THRIVE.
You got the NERVE to wanna lay all up under their descendants? Seek their approval? THESE the people looking down on us...in our hearts and in our souls. Better do right, and figure it out...for THEM!!!

And when you bring up slavery to Jews, they will be quick to bring up their history of bondage............. which took place hundreds and thousands of years ago.
When the holocaust was over, Jews got their own land, and the backing of the united states (which at the time were still discriminating against us).
When slavery ended, the KKK was born, Jim Crow was born, and we were still lynched, murdered and shut out of economic and educational opportunities.
The Civil Rights Act is only 55 YEARS OLD!
Never mind slavery for a moment. There are thousands if not millions of black people in this country who were alive during segregation.
