As noted, James Storm worked a match at last night’s NXT TV tapings. However, Storm has not signed a contract with WWE.

TNA offered Storm a new deal last week that would see his pay increase, but Storm did not agree to it. Storm decided to visit with friends at the NXT Nashville show, which was last Friday.

Storm was offered a ticket by WWE to the NXT TakeOver: Respect show to further discuss working together in the future after talking with WWE officials at the show.

WWE officials wanted Storm to sign a deal similar to Samoa Joe’s initial contract, but Storm did not sign the contract. He did agree to work the NXT TV tapings, which was last night.

WWE is said to be interesting in Storm working the next set of NXT TV tapings later this month. TNAgot wind of his appearance and offered him a new contract on Thursday morning that would have been for more money.

As of this writing, Storm is weighing his options and has yet to accept a deal by either promotion.

Typical TNA. Treated Storm like dirt his last year there. Couldn't afford to keep paying for his contract, so he bounced. Now, TNA is crawling back to him with promises of more money, knowing damn well they don't have it.

Stay where you're at, Storm. Don't make that mistake of going back to that sinking ship.

Storm is a grown ass man, if he's dumb enough to go crawling back to Debit Card Dixie that's on him

He's also 38 years old. Milking out another couple hunnid grand from TNA might be the better option for him at this stage of his life than taking that NXT gamble. It's not like he's Joe who is a top-tier Indy dude who can get top dollar in the top places. If he takes the NXT deal, he's really gambling on making the main roster.

Not really, getting your foot in the door with WWE can go a long way as a WWE trainer/commentator/etc.

As noted, despite James Storm making his WWE NXT debut at last week’s TV tapings, there is still a sizable money offer on the table for Storm to re-sign with TNA.

According to PWInsider.com, TNA wants Storm for its upcoming tour of India to help put over Mahabali Shera. Shera will be one of the focal points during TNA’s tour of India, as pushing Shera is part of TNA’s agreement with Sony SIX. James Storm recently had a feud with Shera and TNA wanted that to continue on the India tour.

In related news, although TNA is claiming the company canceled its upcoming “Hardcore Halloween” tour due to internal changes in the company, and is maintaining the decision to cancel the tour has nothing to do with poor ticket sales, F4WOnline.com is reporting otherwise.

Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that the tour has indeed been canceled due to poor ticket sales.

PWInsider.com is reporting former WWE star and NXT trainer Billy Gunn was the person who got James Storm in touch with WWE officials.

As reported, Storm was seen with Gunn last Wednesday at Full Sail University, where NXT tapes it’s TV shows and site of last week’s Takeover special. Storm then worked a match the next night during the NXT TV tapings; Gunn and Storm are actually good friends outside of wrestling, and he [Gunn] set up the meeting between WWE and Storm.

On a similar note, it was reported earlier that TNA wanted to resign Storm, and tried to make him an offer to get him back for their tour of India. One report said TNA made a “big money offer” to Storm, but this is being disputed. TNA did contact Storm about a return, but the figure offered was likely closer to the similar offer last week.

So they only want to resign storm so he can finish his fued and do the jobs to Mahabali in india not because they really want him back.

As noted, James Storm made his official return to TNA last night at the Impact Wrestling debut on POP TV.

According to WZ Daily regular and ProWrestlingSheet.com’s Ryan Satin, sources noted that after months of negotiations, WWE was only willing to offer Storm a deal that would earn the former TNA Champion less than $100K a year. TNA, on the other hand, was offering 2 1/2 times more than that.

Money was the motivating factor for Storm, who signed a two year deal with TNA which will also see him get a cut of merchandise sales. The offer from TNA is said to be guaranteed money, and as for WWE, the door remains open for a possible return.

:dahell:

What was he in, 2 matches in NXT?
Yea only two matches in nxt he beat adam rose on one of them. If Dixie going to keep giving him that type of money and cut of merchandise sales as long as they stay in business no reason for storm to leave. Good to see the wwe aren't holding it against him and that he could have a job in the future most like as an agent or nxt trainer.

aka, if TNA goes down in '16 like we expected it to in '15, you'll be begging for that under-100k salary. :russ:

Also, lol @ there being such a thing as "guaranteed money" in TNA.
