IF you hold a door for a woman you're a sexist. IF you notice something interesting and compliment a woman you're a pervert(creep if you're #ugly gang). Chivalry was a concept that was probably needed during its time. But it doesn't translate to the modern western world.

Chivalry is reserved for proven decent "and" good looking women.

Back in the day men gave women the benefit of the doubt. Them days are long gone. :camby:

Everyone needs to prove themselve's to be worthy of whatever they desire.

Realist post since sohh.

I do that for the women for deserve respect and who I generally adore. Besides,we live in a Women Empowerment Era. I'm sure those beautiful independent women can opened a door, pull out a chair and hold doors elevators for themselves :troll:

Above the fray.
I hold open doors for Black women regardless. I make it a point to scream on the ones who don't say at least "thank you". I don't even curse like that but I always yell "you're welcome, bytch".

Let's me release my anger..and then I can keep it moving and it won't discourage me for being courteous to the next Black woman I see.

Men are supposed to lead the community, this "He Man Woman Hater's Club" shytt has to go.

When it's a character thing you don't even think about it.

How I look trying to figure out in .3 seconds if someone is "worthy" enough for me to open/hold a door for?

I try to just be courteous to everyone, and females (regardless of looks, b/c it honestly doesn't matter) I try to open or hold the door for, if I'm out with one on a date, I'll get her chair. We got auto locks so I don't need to open her door (although some occasions I do get her car door) I don't use or carry umbrellas, but if i ever happen to have one, I'll give it to the lady I'm with.

I'll make sure she walks always on the inside of the curb, but I'm not putting no jacket over the puddle lol...

I was raised to treat my elders and just people in general with respect. I try to live that out daily. It's been ingrained in me, I still say "yes/no sir/ma'm" to any elders... :manny: I don't expect everyone to be the same tho.

It is dying, and shoot, a lot of these young females don't even know what it is or value it b/c they moms didn't get or expect any...shame

I don't really like most of the outdated extremely gender role cased "chivalry", and I don't like holding the door in most situations, but if happens. On a date, or just in general, I can hold doors and let them go first, but far from some sort of Jidenna classic man, though I am well mannered and polite. One or two girls I go out with from time to time, (with old fashioned "values) criticized for not pulling out her chair, and walking on her right while crossing the street, which I both think are absurd, I'm not doing that.

What bothered me more is that she seemed to think I should inherently know these things, because I'm male, I didn't come up in the Boy Scouts or etiquette class, lol I was in County Jail, and kicked out of the house. I'm trying my best here.
