I think a person should only get engaged if they know they want to marry the person. That being the case, time will only cause damage to the relationship because one will begin to think the other is having second thoughts about the marriage. Once engaged I really don't see the purpose of delaying the wedding aside from possibly saving X amount of money for moving/wedding/honey moon expenses

Y'all treat marriage like its a 3 year deal. Marriage is for life., meaning until you DIE

Why does it matter if you rush to get married if you know you're going to be with the person 50 more years?

My Uncle was engaged for 11 years, and has been married to his wife for 25 now

Compare that to couples who've known eachother for 2 years, engaged for 6 months and married for 4.
