AA love the Obamas though and whatever he did in his 8 year black folks still cherish. I honestly don't get the op. You have prosperity preacher saying what the community should and shouldn't do and we flood they church.
To add on to what I was saying AA's are receptive to their immediate families too. Don't really get the op honestly.

Tariq gets a pass around here.

Not just Tariq but pro blacks in general. We listen to criticism if it comes from a genuine source.

I'm black and doing just fine. Why do I need constructive criticism? I'm not the only black person doing well either. Maybe that's your problem, you need to find a more specific audience instead of widely diversified one such as an entire ethnic group. Maybe that's why you don't get criticize black people.

if other people wanna be lost in the sauce.... fukk it.... let em :yeshrug:

This is quickly becoming my energy. Im not hercules, I cant put the worlds issues on my back.

Black people losing and its only going to get worse in this hypersensitive and highly political extremist time. We’re stuck in a ideoligical tug of war that will put us in the pit.

All I can do is put Black people on where possible (got my two black female friends jobs this week), look after myself and family, save, buy shyt I like and go on holiday.

Malcolm X and MLK risked their lives only for a greater to be called gay and a c00n.

I’m doing well also, but we are not. That’s the point.

Anyway, I’m starting not to care. Day by day I’m moving on with worrying about black people. Honestly.

Due to the effects of slavery and Jim Crow, there’s been a wall build around the black community that I like to call the black defense wall. The enormous amounts of unfair ridicule, harassment, criticism, prejudice and racism that we faced during slavery and Jim Crow has caused us to be very sensitive to criticism. So much so that it is nearly impossible for white people to have a fair critique of black people without being labeled a racist or bigot. Primarily because they are white and they have the skin color of the oppressor. On the other hand, most white people who do have criticisms of black people are bigot/prejudice/racist trash so we are able to dismiss them easily.

The bigger problem is when black people try to give justified criticism regarding black issues not out of malice like many white people, but out of love for their people and the willingness to see us improve. These type of black people are shunned and accused of being c00ns, oreos or not a real black person. We are very defensive people due to the generations of white supremacy that caused us to fight back and be on the defensive from mental and physical attack. This is a psychological issue for us that has been passed down generation to generation.

The black defense wall keeps us from progressing. The inability to tear down this wall means we are not able to travel to the location of the table where we can sit down, love and discuss justified criticisms and concerns that can help us improve as a race. Instead, it causes more in fighting, more false accusations and unfair character assassinations.

Doesn't sound like an issue of who can speak on it because it's clear anyone can it's an issue of who you will listen to. And it's clear a lot of y'all won't listen to anybody so...I guess we'll go with the defacto answer and say "God", right?

@Frank Grimes I think the crux of any disagreement I would have with what you just said is I don't believe there is an "inability to tear down this wall."

That's dismissive of you, me, and anyone else who does their part, no matter how "small" it's perceived, to do just that.
