Excel skills on a resume might be redundant soon? More A.I being a big threat to a lot of desk jobs like Business Analysts.

People denying this are crazy.

I’ve criticized A.I a ton on here but I’m not naive either. I use it everyday at work and see how efficient it is. Part of the reason why I went into EE is knowing that it’ll take a few more advancements when it comes to sensors for it to take a chunk out of the field. It’ll come though. It may not be able to do all smart jobs and specialties but a large large number of them will be capsized.

Writing software though, the leaps are insane.

I do think the “next 10 years” claims are overblown, but I think the 20-30 years ones are as well. I can realistically see somewhere in the 10-20 years you’ll have that scale of A.I dominance.

It’s exponential/compound growth right now.

they say it's doubling it's intelligence every six months and thats assuming there isn't a Recursive self-improvement(RSI) breakthrough within 10 years and if RSI happens old timelines are meaningless.

There is no adapting to this. This is very different
The way automobiles and planes killed message couriers like the Pony Express. :comeon:

AI is a tool that facilities us getting shyt done faster. Efficiency is never a bad thing. It'll save up more time for us to focus on other things.

I work in finance and my colleagues team constantly trips up over excel and VBA issues. They're trying to hire ppl, experts in VBA, on top of being a specific product vets. Them nikkas don't exist, not at our salary range. The solution is hiring Indians, like always, but they're on the other side of the world. Its the evening for them when our markets start for the day.

This is a major distraction when we need to send data to our internal and external business partners. If business doesn't want to pay more money to handle non essential work, AI is the solution.

I keep trying to tell all these AI doom & gloom nikkas.

Yes.. some greedy corporations and CEOs are going to try to cut jobs and use AI as an excuse but when shyt goes wrong, because it always does, then we’ll see how great of a decision that will be.

But yes… AI is a tool that should be used to make an analysts job easier but not define the job.

@NaijaProdigy Redux how y’all expecting AI to impact entry level investment banking jobs? Hire fewer people since they should be able to do more? Use AI entirely? Keep the same amount of people and just become an industry with better work life balance? :mjlol:

Not the same. You are literally offloading cognitive tasks, not replacing muscle. You will be reducing mental effort to the point where the user of this tech will not have to think very much on their own.
:yeshrug:our overall weight and health go worst when we stopped needing to walk everywhere and all the unhealthy shyt came much faster and cheaper. Some of us decided to dedicate time to exercise and offset these negatives.

We gotta do the same to avoid cognitive decline. Many ppl will mentally atrophy and :flabbynsick: like bodies have. That's their problem. We have a plethora of material out here to stimulate our minds. Protect you and yours.

I'm fittin to ask Gemini how legit my take is.:troll:

There’s NO way work-life balance improves in investment banking or private equity for juniors.

It will just be another excuse to increase output per analyst (even if the overall number decreases).

The same thing happened with the Internet and mobile - you’d think this would improve efficiency and work-life balance but it made it worse.

“What do you mean you can’t handle 5 live transactions? You got AI. You should be able to do 10 :troll:

Everything I’ve seen about AI doesn’t show any jobs being replaced. All I see is another. However you still need smart ppl who know when and how to implement the tool.
