Expert on civil wars says the US is heading toward insurgency

It could happen here. I think a civil war is unlikely, insurgencies and domestic terrorism is likely to increase. Especially if Trump runs. Hopefully he keeps his monkey ass out the race.

EDIT: I think outright 1861 civil war is virtually impossible with the current status quo. It's hard to war with someone when the country is ethnically and socially ambiguous. Your next door neighbor and you probably differ dramatically politically. Hell some of these far motherfukkas have black, Hispanic, Asian wives and some of them are black, Hispanic, Asian and mothafukkin ghey themselves.

Add to this an existential threat (climate change) that the minority refuses to recognize.

The thing is, there are two major sides in an insurgency. Here in America it is the dems and republicans, which for all intents and purposes are two different heads of the beast. While one side wishes to eventually annihilate any vestige of multiculturalism or ethnic history - don’t kid yourself, the game is being shouted out every day! - the dems are in contrast almost milquetoast, stuffy and just as corporate.

However, it remains prudent to side with them - for now. While their function remains as a friendly face of corporatism and the current status quo, they also retain progressive elements in the party. While progressive politics are largely ineffectual, as parliamentary politics invariably defang popular movements, it does extend some sort of opening for radical change in the case of a protracted war.

The importance of a popular front can’t be stated enough. I’m a socialist and the lack of any urgency from the left is alarming. While they are largely stuck in a state of postmodern irony, the right is mobilizing at an unprecedented face. We are all collectively sleepwalking.

Just because the US is exhibiting these predictive patterns, however, doesn't necessarily mean the country is headed for all-out chaos, Walter said. But the threat grows stronger with each passing day.

Maybe a civil war is exaggerated, but I do see a scenario where Trump runs and loses in 2024, and white people lose their fukking minds again. Security would be better at the US Capitol this time around but I'm not so sure about state and city capitol buildings.

Also, even with better security at the US capital, House and Senate members can always get caught lacking in their travels.

Those aren't the types I'm worried about.
I'm worried about the ex military white folk that come home from training and give their friends training in the woods on how to hunt change weapons, and work with body armor with tactical training and military technology. The ones that infiltrate police forces. Those are the ones to worry about.

The ones that love accelerationist theories where they can create order from chaos. The ones that their white neighbors, friends, and family are scared to death to call out. The ones associated with many of the new white supremacist networks/organizations that have arisen in the past 10 years since Obama's second term. The ones that want to establish white ethnostates and already are in states like Maine and Idaho.

Those are the ones Im worried aboht. And theres alot of them in suburban white Amerikkka.
