What was their issue? Message boards are communities for the posters to express different ideas and opinions, was that not allowed or something?
Let's not forget about those who couldn't even post (and were forced to be lurkers) bc of we didn't have a paid email account

Their attitude towards complaints or suggested improvements were "If you dont like it here, go elsewhere"
They basically knew that the only other site was AHH so they were real arrogant with it.... I was a member of that site for years and I dont think I reached 200 posts.....
They had some legendary posters though, and some classic threads
I'm a relatively new member -- I joined in October -- and from my understanding this forum didn't get started until May. BK and Brooklynzson are the co-creators, I get that, but I don't understand what people mean when they say "Hamster" or "SOHH". I hear people say there was a shift from an old site to this, but I want to know what caused y'all to make that switch.
Fill us post-SOHH members in on y'all history.
the term
comes from the servers being so slow, people joked that the servers where made of a single on a wheel.
every time there was too many heads on that site we would get the dreaded database error screen

It was a perfect storm of shytty mods, slow servers, Nba playoffs, and a wrestling Pay-per-view . people got fed Up and the rest is history

I remember anytime you'd make a complaint to the "TellSOHH" subforum or to any admin/mod they would always reply sarcastically or told us "if you don't like it, you can always leave"
lots of politics and favoritism with the mods too from what i heard. they would censor stuff for the dumbest reasons (pawg, cac, nikka, cracka, p*ssy, etc) were all censored.
the crazy thing is that people had been complaining for YEARS about this shyt and they never did anything about it. One weekend there was a sports event (forgot what it was) and the servers crashed (the whole hamster thing comes from their servers being ran by a little hamster on a wheel) and that was it. The founding fathers created this website and started sending PMs to the members.
at first SOHH tried to ignore the movement. when they saw the momentum, they started to ridicule it and said it would only last a few days and people would come right back. after a week they really started to get nervous and that's when SOHH became North Korea. people on SOHH weren't allowed to mention or even allude to the-coli in their thread titles, posts, avi, signatures or even reppin section. Threads would get deleted, posters getting banned, signatures and avis were being replaced for us. Even legendary posters were getting banned.
more and more people started leaving and they got desperate so they supposedly fixed the servers (it had been an issue for YEARS and all of a sudden they managed to fix it in a couple of days???) then they had the nerve to ask us for suggestions to make the forums better to convince us that they care but it was just too little too late.
Mods and admins from SOHH were sending emails and making threads with pleas and threats for legal action and they got exposed on here. And also there was the great thread with the coli smileys throughout history that won a lot of SOHH heads over.
shyt was like a Exodus. Coli won the war and the other place got wiped out. other place started in 1996 and i was a member since the early 2000s. i didn't even give a fukk when their forums shut down. a fukking 2012 messageboard where you couldn't even embed pics/gifs???

Nah the servers was definitely a main issue. One of the greatest comebacks in playoff history(Clips/Grizz game 1) and you couldn't even talk about it cuz the boards was down, and this was an ongoing thing during regular season games, let alone big events. That is when portcityplaya made his thread suggesting a new board.
