marshall had a contract extension not too long ago, i guess he don't want to leave witchita st for abigger school. homie built that program and turned it into something, i guess he take pride in it cause he can make bigger money elsewhere. same with vcu coach shaka smart. he turned down big money from bigger schools to stay at vcu.

But self is very good coach, his system though needs to be tweaked ASAP or just reconsider how he recruits all together...A NC, 11 straight confrence titles, runs a clean program and nothing but praise from his former players....fam ain't going nowhere for awhile....

Wichita coach got something special going on and he in the right state to build a top program...

There are schools where a coach would be a superpower...we been waiting for cats like Brad Stevens at butler, smart at VCU, and Marshall at wichita st to ascend to the thone. Stevens would have been a rock star at Indiana. Shaka Smart could be the UCLA coach right now. Marshall could take over any school he wants to.

but these new school coaches perfectly fine to stay in small towns and let big chances pass them by

i dont see him leaving for a bigger school in the near future. the school that screwed up in regards to marshall was south carolina. they could have had him when they hired darrin horn in 2008. the ad at the time didnt even give marshall an interview smh. then in 2012 when the sc job opened up again supposedly they once again didnt make a serious run at him. he was once quoted as saying south carolina was his dream job.

i also read somewhere else that arkansas could have had him after sc went elsewhere. so maybe he would be open to the boatload of money that alabama would offer, but personally with the success hes had with the shockers i dont think he'll leave.

Not sure. VCU counter offered Smart 2.5 million/year to try and keep him. Didn't know they could afford that. And Marshall isn't going to go somewhere he doesn't think he'll be able to succeed.
