Actually I have, but not at a college or pro level. But do you actually believe that demeaning a professional athlete that's actually better than his coach in every facet of life is an effective strategy? You think Jordan or Barry Sanders needed to be yelled at and demeaned. I understand what you're saying in terms of it's the coach/player dynamic that has been going on since the dawn of sports. I just think white coaches enjoy barking on Black players a little more than they do white players. Parcells was the exception because he barked on Simms all the time. And I understand the idea of motivation, but as a Black man, I just have an issue with it.
I think you're looking for it, so there it is.

How do we know if Ware "had" to get at him? For sure, that's how ESPN, CBS and all would interpret it. But that's all they or we are doing: interpreting. No one knows what was being said here. And just looking at it, Witten looks more like the aggressor here. Ware pushes Witten away and could just be telling Bryant to walk away, let it go. He could have just as easily taken Witten by the arm and pulled him aside, talked to him. How would that play on ESPN if it went down that way? Would Witten be described as a toddler, like some columnists have labeled Dez? Bottom line: no one just watching the broadcast knows what was being said or whether or not it was justifiable or reasonable. Jumping to a whole lot of conclusions using nothing but body language.

:ohhh:

So basically all Ware did was seperate Witten/Dez, then take Dez to the side for a concillatory talk. The media had me thinking Ware was combative, even aggressive, with Dez.
