Those Black young men have parents and families. Teacher deliberately avoided mentioning those people, and what they are raising and grooming their sons to become.

Nah we just don't do a good enough job raising black boys. There's ancillary jobs and careers in each of those interests.

Sports agents, contract lawyers, team physicians. Audio engineers, videogame developers etc etc.

We don't support these interests, and sometimes passions, to get everything we can from them.

Instead respectability politics has us throwing the baby out with the bath water, believing we all have to be brain surgeons and astronauts.

I feel sorry for his students and the dreams he wants to snuff out.

We're not letting kids be kids if they're consuming content that celebrates Black males dying non stop. We're programming them to believe that their lives have little to no value.

If they all listened to gospel tapes and aspired to be financiers they would still have gone to a school with less funding (nationwide), a thriving criminal marketplace ( Black people nationwide are statistically more likely to live in) and a assload of other state failures that predetermine many of our young men’s lives.
