I've got Charter internet and my introductory rate of 29.99 just expired and jumped up to $45. Thinking of jumping to time warner for their 34.99 deal since it will save me $10 per month. Has anyone had any luck haggling or should I jump ship to a cheaper rate?

I live alone so I'm trying to save that $$ as much as I can :mjpls:

thoughts?

Charter doesn't extend their promotions. You have to cancel and come back after the month period. The used to extend them but stopped a few years ago.

internet cant really help you on, but when I lived with a friend he just switched from direct tv to dish, dish to direct, direct to dish, etc every 2 years when the offer ran out.

Put it under a different name :manny:
Threatening to cancel these days is blowing smoke. They know you 9/10 won't becaue work you cannot. Unless you have a legimitite offer or competition, they most likely won't budge.
Worked all the time for me. The cable internet prices haven't really changed much unless you bundle it with TV, which I refuse to do.

Paying for Cable TV in almost 2015 is crazy

doing a cable switch isn't worth it to save a mere $10, cuz u gotta deal with the hassle of scheduling another appointment and returning the old equipment. most times you gotta threaten to quit. I know for me, I have had comcast for over 10 years and keep a credit balance on my account, so when I start bytching about my rates every year or so, they usually send me to retentions to get some kinda deal.
