Anyhow, try Finder>>Preferences>>Sidebar, select 'External disks' under 'Locations'.​

Lmao I got an Asus on the side but would still need to transfers large files to it via an external drive. Online cloud storage could be an alternative. Nothing shows on the sidebar panel.

At this point, just take it back. Might be a defective cable or SATA card. It happens.​
