The ones I know and have worked with are.
They make minimum $46 an hr plus time 1/2 OT.
Don’t get me started on linemen that travel out of state for storm jobs.
As with any job/career it is what you make it. For instance, my CDL brehs. Bring that cdl to the Electricians union and now you can haul line and equipment to the job site. You made yourself more valuable.
Linemen is a whole other trade breh. A few union brehs will be making $46 plus OT but ol boy in a service truck working for abc electric is making $28-32 an hour with no OT. And that’s the majority of electricians. Stop the false advertising

We helping y’all eat. If you aren’t currently in a job you love or have your career path set and don’t go apply to all these union halls you are out of your damn mind and just a generally not shyt dusty ass nikka content to not make any paper or learn a skill in life.
Period.
A lot of local trade unions will be taking in members soon so pay attention and look for this same type of opportunities wherever you’re located because baby boomers are retiring soon in numbers and there will be a huge void in qualied tradesman in a lot of fields
-Study for the whatever aptitude tests they give
-Stay clean for drug testing ( some may do follicle tests )
-Have all of your paperwork and drivers license in order
-Have some money aside just in case you have to buy tools and / or do an orientation that might be unpaid for a few days
-Be early for whatever you have to show up too
-Try to get some other brehs to apply with you if possible / spread the word but if cats not doing what they’re supposed to do then fukk em. You can lead a horse to water...
-etc...
If you have options on what to join, choose the one that you can do your own work on the side with if necessary but take whatever’s available if you need it. I say that because if you’re a train operator or some shyt and that gets slow, you can’t do anything else outside of where you work at vs being a good electrician, carpenter etc... and being able to do work literally anywhere where it’s need for a company or yourself if need be

Who’s talking about service truck electricians? I never said that. I’m talking about the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Not someone that comes to your house and wires lightbulbs.
This union talk. I work with dudes going home with 150k after taxes yearly.
